Shipyard Agency Services in Turkey
Bravo Ship has been featured in the September 2026 international special issue of Deniz Gündem, dedicated to Maintenance, Repair and Retrofit within the maritime industry.
In the interview, Bravo Ship Managing Director Berkay Talay shares the company’s approach to shipyard agency services in Turkey, highlighting the importance of early planning, operational intelligence and close on-site coordination throughout vessels’ repair and dry-docking periods.
Planning Before the Need Arises
Dry-docking projects involve much more than the repair scope itself. Crew movements, spare-part deliveries, customs formalities, superintendent attendance, technicians, local logistics and unexpected technical requirements often need to progress simultaneously with the shipyard schedule. For this reason, Bravo Ship places particular emphasis on preparation before the vessel arrives.
As highlighted in the interview:
“The fastest operation is one that is planned before the need arises.”
Early information regarding the vessel’s ETA, selected shipyard, expected repair scope and operational requirements allows the necessary arrangements to be prepared in advance and helps reduce unnecessary delays during the repair period.
Shipyard Agency Services in Tuzla and Yalova
Bravo Ship provides shipyard agency services in Turkey, with particular operational coverage for vessels undergoing dry-docking, repair, maintenance and retrofit projects in Tuzla and Yalova.
Throughout a shipyard stay, our support can cover agency and husbandry requirements, crew changes, customs clearance and delivery of ship spares, superintendent and technician attendance, local transportation, technical supply and other operational requirements arising during the project.
When required, Bravo Ship can also attend as Owner’s Protecting Agent (OPA), providing Owners and Technical Managers with a dedicated local point of contact throughout the vessel’s shipyard period.
Agency and Technical Support Under One Coordination
Repair scopes can develop quickly once inspections begin. Additional repairs may be identified, spare parts may be required at short notice, or specialist technical attendance may become necessary while the vessel is already in dry dock.
Combining shipyard agency, husbandry and technical support under one operational coordination allows Bravo Ship to respond to these requirements while maintaining direct communication with the vessel, Owner and Technical Management.
Our objective remains straightforward: support timely decision-making, maintain close operational follow-up and help keep the vessel’s repair programme moving.
